Mission / Leadership

The Animal Protection League, Inc. provides leadership in strategic management for the Metropolitan DC area animal welfare community in order to maximize the success of humane initiatives. Our programs are designed to facilitate animal care providers in fulfilling a shared commitment by improving these initiatives.

Leadership programs include:

Advisory Alliance
The Advisory Alliance is a collaborative environment for learning and knowledge exchange for all animal care organizations, businesses, workers, and volunteers. Our ongoing role as connector for knowledge sharing engages participants in cultivating learning processes that utilize varying experiences and knowledge, and intertwine strategies, challenges, and lessons learned to all of those shared obstacles. This program enables emergent collaborative behaviors and fosters communication and synergy among members and recognizes that all animal service work and its workers are fundamental to the potential success of animal welfare.

Fundraising and Grants
The Animal Protection League, Inc. creates an approach that is an interactive setting for harmonious partnerships and grant seeking success.  The ability to advance animal welfare initiatives rely heavily on fundraising efforts. In this challenging economic environment, the APL facilitates collaborative fundraising as a creative solution that gives smaller organizations greater opportunity for support and larger organizations greater fervor by funders.

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.”

We offer animal welfare organizations and individuals committed to humane efforts to collaborate in an effort to enhance all parties efforts. To join our next brainstorming session, or to propose a session, click here.
